Proverbs 16:5
The Lord detests all the proud of heart.
Be sure of this: They will not go unpunished.

Business App
The next time you have a great accomplishment or victory in the office place, in the boardroom, or on the playing field, who will receive glory for the victory—you or God?
Food for Thought
It’s pretty easy to walk humbly before God when you’re getting pounded on a regular basis. I know: God continues to pound me on a regular basis. It wasn’t always like that. There were many victories prior to my current walk in the desert. When I ponder that time of success in the light of a passage like this, I wonder how many times I took the glory instead of stepping aside and paying honor to whom honor was due.
I don’t know what my future holds. Will the walk in the desert continue or will there be victories again? Whether it’s prosperity or poverty tomorrow, I pray that I will always shine the light on the Father for I am certain HE is the source of everything good.
Next Steps
I ask you to join me in this commitment: God gets the glory. In everything that you or I may be held up as an example or lauded for our accomplishment, let us quickly redirect the spotlight to the only one who truly deserves it.
